Why You Should Go Barefoot Today & Explore the Benefits of Earthing
Have you ever thought of how powerful the earth is? More like how much energy it has? You may not know this, but the earth itself can be likened to a gigantic battery.
A battery that contains a special kind of electric charge — one that brings health and healing to our bodies.
In other words, there's a unique flow of life-changing electrons that you can receive the moment you go barefoot. This is because you are connecting to the earth. Yes, we're talking about walking barefoot in the sand, grass, rocks, forest and more.
What the Studies Say
Today, countless health professionals have been emphasizing the incredible health benefits of earthing. There are quite a number of studies that support the healing effects of being grounded.
Here is a link to just one of these such studies.
But What Exactly is Earthing?
For those who might not know, earthing is the process of ridding the body of harmful elements like pollution, free radicals, and heavy metals. This is claimed to be accomplished, in part, by coming in direct contact with the earth.
In essence, the healing happens when your skin touches a conductive surface that's in direct contact with the earth; this could be the sand, soil, water and the like.
Humans are Electric
You see, human earthing is similar to the way we electronically ground most of our electrical appliances, homes, buildings, etc. with the aim of protecting them from electric shock or overcharging.
The only difference here is the reversed flow of electrons.
For the most part, our ancestors, were one with the earth and that's precisely why they enjoyed good health and lived longer.
However, today's modern lifestyle has separated us from the earth and drastically reduced our contact with it. In fact, a good number of people hardly come in contact with the earth.
This may actually be a precursor to the countless health problems the world is facing today.
What's more, most of us have given ourselves to rubber shoes, and we even wear them indoors. In essence, there's a good chance that many people can go years without setting their barefoot on the earth!
What You Should Know About The Benefits of Earthing
First off, the earth is chock full of negatively charged electrons which most living beings (including humans) need for neutralization, equilibrium, and growth.
Now the thing is, nature has already perfected this invigorating mechanism; that's the balanced and regulated flow of earth's negative ions.
But unfortunately, modern humans fail to connect to the energy flow — we actually move farther away from it.
Well, for starters, our day to day lives usually expose us to unhealthy air, food, water and of course, an incredibly positively charged lifestyle.
But do you know what's worse? We keep ourselves insulated by wearing plastic shoes which cut us off from the amazing healing power of the Earth.
What's more, we are always surrounded by electronics including our TVs, cell phones, radios and a host of other wireless equipment.
Now, you may not know this, but all these actually bombard us with millions of positively charged particles. We hardly connect with the earth to achieve balance and stability.
We have Moved Away from Nature
As mentioned earlier, most of us have completely separated ourselves from the earth's energy that heals and rejuvenates our body.
But the good thing is, we can regain the lost connection by simply taking off our shoes — just do it for a few hours a day to get totally immersed in earth's natural healing energy!
You can even go head to the beach to sink your bare feet in the sand and of course, enjoy the relaxing effect and benefits of earthing.
Well, it's also good to point out that other factors such as the sun and weather relax our bodies and make us feel great; but they can't be compared to the sand and water!
These elements of the earth never fail to rid the body of harmful radicals and positive ions.
Get More Vitamin G
It's also good to know that going barefoot and connecting to the earth allows your body to conduct a natural and subtle energy known as vitamin G and as you probably guessed, G stands for ground.
What if getting more of this amazing vitamin could be the difference between feeling weak or strong? What if it were a matter of looking vibrant or looking dull, suffering from disease or living a super healthy life?
Stay Protected From Electromagnetic Fields
What could be the cause of insomnia, migraines and other ailments? Could it be that you have a weak immune system?
Well, that may not necessarily be the case — these diseases could come as a result of overexposure to Electromagnetic Fields or EMFs. The good news is, most the cases can be cured by the simple act of getting grounded — just become one with the earth!

After so many years of losing contact with your electric roots and may be suffering from the countless health implications, it's only normal for you to start reconnecting right now.
Essentially, you only have to take off your shoes and of course, walk, sit or stand on sand, grass, soil or even concrete — your body can easily draw the Earth's energy from these surfaces!
Make it a Part of Your Routine!
What's more, you can also make the Earthing practice a big part of your routine regardless of how busy you are.
Yes, most of us are so busy that we can barely find time to go out barefoot and that's perfectly fine.
While these indoor options are great, we'll recommend you step out once in a while to bask in the healing power of the earth — you're sure to feel the difference! Stay grounded!
So, earthing is pretty powerful huh? Wait until you read about the next anti stress technique- spiritual healing!
2-) Spiritual Healing
Benefits of Spiritual Healing for Anti Stress & Physical/Mental Well-Being
Spiritual healing is becoming wildly more popular all over the world, but has been in existence for thousands of years. It's often referred to as energy healing. Can you just play music, or say a prayer for health? Could it be that simple to find your spiritual connection?
Perhaps you've heard of Reiki or healing massage, which some feel has the power to pervade a high level of energy to the receiver. That in turn, would benefit that person both physically and mentally. It's even gaining ground in hospitals.
Of course there are other forms of spiritual healing too, but one must be careful not to fall under the spell of false psychics or mystics, and those who claim to use channeling to heal or cure people. Also, please keep in mind that this practice does not in and of itself create physical health or cure diseases.
Basically, whatever you want to call it, spiritual healing is the act of attaining a state of peace and contentment at the level of your soul. Some may believe that it can provide health without using any sort of medication or treatment.
Still, the word that comes to my mind when I think of this topic is mystical. We can't see the soul of a person, but we can feel and sense it. It's mystical. Somehow we know it's there. I believe that the soul can be healed by the Higher Being and a soul at peace can absolutely have positive effects on the physical body!
Though the process of healing is not as quick as a miracle, it takes time for someone to heal and is definitely a gradual overall improvement process.
Spiritual healing can also provide benefit from a distance. A healing voice from a distant place can be as effective as hands on. Such type of healing is known as remote healing. Prayer is one such form of distant healing and spiritual connection to God.
Benefits of practicing this are listed below, followed by 5 methods you can use yourself to promote your own well-being.
Some of the main benefits of spiritual healing may include the following:
Helps in clearing emotions and enhances the growth of a person.
Causes extreme relaxation and helps the body to release tension and anxiety.
Relaxes the mind and can help extract the depression from a person.
Increases the frequency of the body.
Enhances the strength of both mind and body.
Provides support to the immune system.
Helps in normalizing blood pressure and in acquiring better sleep.
May also be helpful in chronic diseases such as asthma, headache and relieving pain from injuries.
Brings the body in harmony and balance.
Five Ways You Can Practice Spiritual Healing
1.) Practice of Meditation
Meditation may be one of the practices that were a part of ancient traditions but it is highly practiced even today. It is attached to different religions but is mostly practiced in order to find awareness and achieve inner peace.
Even in the 21st century, people are turning towards meditation to acquire much needed inner peace. The main reason for the dramatic increase in meditation is the busy schedule and hectic lives of people, which makes it even more important to reduce stress.
Moreover, there is no right or wrong way of meditation as long as it provides harmony to your body & mind and meets your requirements.
Following are the main types of meditation that are practiced in various parts of the world:
- Spiritual meditation can provide a chance to practice your religious beliefs at a deep, self reflective level while connecting with God at a personal level.
- Movement meditation provides the benefit of mind and body such as that done with Yoga and Qigong.
- Mindfulness meditation helps to train your mind to remain present as you turn your attention to the experiences of the here and now.
a few more:
- Heart Rhythm Meditation focuses on the heartbeat and breathing.
- Focused meditation requires you to set your focus on a particular object as you clear your mind of intrusive thoughts.
- Transcendental meditation often used for entering a state of mind that is restful and anxiety-free.
- Mantra meditation employs sounds with specific qualities or vibrations to assist you with the relaxation and mind-cleansing process.
Obviously, not every type of meditation would be suitable for anyone. All of these types require different skills, attitudes, or beliefs in order to practice.
2.) Connection to Nature
When you want to establish a connection with nature, you need only realize that you are an integral part of nature. The body that you have is made up of all similar minerals, elements, and energies that are used to make this planet.
Spending time with nature releases stress and is even anti-inflammatory which can be observed and felt when one practices it. You need only read our post on Earthing to understand what we mean by this.
When I was a kid, I was lucky enough to live in a quiet rural areas where I need only walk a few feet outside our back yard to be in the woods and near a running stream. Often times I sat there quietly. There was no cell phone to distract me. I can vividly recall the sounds and sensations of just being there.
Make it simple
I was connected to nature and I recharged easily that way. So, a fitting example of a connection to nature could just be the oxygen that we need for our survival. Realizing that it is given to us by plants and trees. These trees are part of nature and they breathe in carbon dioxide that we exhale; hence, a beautiful cycle.
Some other ways to connect to nature include cloud-and-star-gaze, to go barefoot, sun and moon gazing, walking and listening to the sounds of nature.
Moreover, our bodies are even made up of nature and at the end; we return our bodies to the motherland, thus, back to nature.
In order to start your connection with nature, some of the effective steps are illustrated below for consideration:
- You must first make a conscious decision to be connected to nature. Then..
- Spend time in nature when you are alone.
- Find a good place, sit and feel the surroundings like I did as a kid.
- Try to relax and observe the nature that is around you any time you go outside.
- Be mindful of grass, trees, flowers, birds, clouds, and everything miraculous in nature. City dwellers can even start relishing a few flowers on a rooftop garden in the city.
3.) Prayer for Health
According to different beliefs, prayers can change things and turn your life around. You can also communicate with God through prayers. If you believe in it, you can use prayers for healing as well. But then again, it all comes down to whether you believe it or not. Believing in something enhances its effectiveness.
I am a believer and my personal prayer for health goes something like this, " Dear Lord, thank you for another day. Thank you for another opportunity to do your will here on Earth. Please grant me the strength and good health to get up and go to work and teach your children. Help me to have patience, love and kindness for all. -In Jesus' name, Amen"
Then I go to work and I am feeling thankful for a new day and chance to do God's will. But, I am also happy for every healthy day I have. When I pray for others it feels good and a lot of the worry I may have had about their well-being is given to God and this alone lightens the burden on my own soul.
The Bible talks about prayer for health over and over. Check out this link for 40 healing Bible Verses
Different Prayers for Different Belief Systems
When it comes to spiritual healing, there are different types of prayers according to different beliefs. These prayers might include a prayer for health for yourself, or a friend. One can say a prayer for healing a sick family member, or for restoration and grace, protection, strength, serenity etc.
By now you can see that you can pray for anything you want or need. You can do it any time, any place. Moreover, a prayer for health can have power that directly give you a spiritual connection you with the positive energy of God. Prayers can help you in releasing stress and making you feel relaxed physically, mentally and spiritually.
4.) Gratitude Practices
One of the best ways to get in touch with your soul is through experiencing gratitude. When you are joined to your soul, you feel a spiritual connection to the entire universe.
Gratitude can be defined as the richness of heart that helps you to move towards love and expansion and away from restrictions and hatred.
Gratitude can be felt for anything, it can be felt for your body, comforts you are given, your mind, the air that you breathe in, the sense of seeing, smell, touch, taste and so many other things.
Write it Down
People, with all the crap in the world, there is still so very much to be grateful for! If you need some help finding some things you can personally be grateful for, try writing.
Gratitude can be practiced by keeping a gratitude journal, or writing a thank you letter.
Moreover, those who show gratitude feel better, experience much more love and joy, get sick less often, have more enthusiasm, have more energy, are more determined, feel stronger and are always ready to provide support to others.
Gratitude makes you humble and cleans your heart from the worries of the world – it makes you feel lucky and satisfied.
5.) Play Music
“Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy.”
– Ludwig van Beethoven
Music helps you in balancing your emotions and your lifestyle. Music fosters your personal growth, your well-being, health, inner healing, happiness, and spiritual awareness.
When it comes to transcending the constraints of a rational mind, music plays a pivotal role in it. So, play music and just feel the spiritual connection you will make!
Such is the beauty of music that it unleashes your intuitiveness by activating the perspective side of your brain. It relaxes your brain and provides much-needed inner peace.
Music is the language of our souls. It is a powerful tool that helps in healing and releasing the stress of most of the people. It is also not important that all types of music are suitable to all.
Needless to say, when you play music, a beautiful sound can bring your soul into a harmonious form. When I listen to certain chosen songs, they bring back memories of some of the best and happiest times of my life. This helps my soul happy and peaceful.
The Bottom Line
Spiritual healing can be achieved through various means and it all depends on your perception and beliefs.
All in all, it is safe to say that being content in your soul can help you in so many matters, but it all comes down to one thing: do you believe that it will help you?
If yes, then it surely will! So, meditate, gain a spiritual connection with nature, play music, and say a prayer for health.
What are you waiting for? Now you can start earthing and spiritual practice! But wait, there's more-EFT Tapping! Read on to learn about the third incredible anti stress technique.
3-) EFT Tapping — A Great Anti Stress Tool
Wouldn't it be great if you could help yourself feel better with tapping? It is harmless, cheap, and easy to do anywhere, anytime.
Are you one of the millions of people settling for a life that is void of peace, joy, and fulfillment? Or, is it more-so that your life is riddled with poor health and emotional junk?
If yes, there's a good chance that you're stuck in a lifestyle that exposes you to chronic pain, emotional trauma, addictions and the like.
What's more, you may be relying on pills to sleep at night or reduce anxiety, and the worst part is that these medications many times deliver little to no results but sure so have side effects!
So what's the way out?
Well, you don't have to sign up for those expensive and ineffective treatments in all cases. In essence, you would probably like to quit relinquishing all the power over your health and well-being to doctors and therapists.
Obviously doctors are critical to health and you need them for your illnesses, but this technique may help you feel better in between visits.
And of course, we are talking about the art of EFT.
What Is Tapping?
Simply put, it is an alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress. It gives you the much-needed opportunity to take some control of both your physical and emotional well being, and the best part is, anyone and everyone can do it!
Now EFT stands for emotional freedom technique in case you were curious.
For the most part,
this technique is an effective way to relieve chronic pain, disorders, emotional traumas, phobias, addictions, PTSD and other things.
The EFT procedure is pretty similar to acupuncture and acupressure in the sense that the techniques utilize the body's energy meridian points.
Essentially, these meridian points get stimulated when you tap on them with your fingertips. Unblocking these points could help your nervous system reset which can positively affect the body.
So let's go right into how this is done and you will see how easy and convenient it really is!
How Does It Work?
As mentioned earlier, Tapping makes use of the body's meridian points to restore energy balance. For the most part, this energy balance is key to relieving symptoms that may have come on as a result of negative life experiences and the like.
For those who might not know, meridian points are pathways the body energy flows through, and even the slightest imbalance (in the energy flow) can trigger symptoms and eventually result in sicknesses and diseases.
Unlike acupuncture that uses needles to apply pressure and restore balance, EFT uses fingertips, and that's precisely why anyone can do it.
So are you ready to restore balance to your disrupted energy? If yes, let's explore the steps!
Identify The Issue
As you probably expected, the very first step to your healing is to look within and of course, identify the issue or fear that's preventing you from living your life to the fullest. You can then use the said problem as your focal point while you're doing this sequence.
Note: you're more likely to see greater results if you focus on just one problem at a time.
Test the Initial Intensity
Now that you've identified the challenge, it's time to set a benchmark level of the intensity. The intensity level is typically rated on a scale ranging from 0 to 10, and of course, 10 represents the worst or most intense.
It could be the intensity of your headache or any negative emotion.
When you establish a benchmark, you'll get to monitor your progress after completing the EFT sequence, and that's a big part of the plan.
At this point, it's crucial to come up with a phrase that sheds more light on what you're trying to address — you should do this before you start. For the most part, you should first acknowledge the problems and of course, fully accept yourself.
Need an example? Well, you could say, "I know that I have this fear or problem, but nevertheless I know that God loves me. I accept myself as He does, right now completely." OR something along those lines.
It's all up to you to decide on the phrase that fits your situation. Essentially, you have a higher chance of relieving the problem if you focus on how it makes you feel. Just take a good look at your challenges and of course, create the most accurate phrase that's sure to work.
The EFT Sequence
This is the stage where you start tapping on the ends of nine meridian points that mirror each side of the body. It's important to note that there are actually 12 major meridians, but this set healing technique will focus on just nine including:
Karate chop (KC): small intestine meridian
Top of head (TH): governing vessel
Eyebrow (EB): bladder meridian
Side of the eye (SE): gallbladder meridian
Under the eye (UE): stomach meridian
Under the nose (UN): governing vessel
Chin (Ch): central vessel
Beginning of the collarbone (CB): kidney meridian
Under the arm (UA): spleen meridian
Alright. Now start tapping the karate chop point and at the same time, recite your setup phrase — do it up to three times. Moving down the body in an ascending order, tap each of the following point seven (7) times:
Side of eye
Under the eye
Under the nose
Beginning of the collarbone
Under the arm
Once you're done patting the underarm point, round up the cycle at the top of the head point.
Never forget to recite a reminder phrase while tapping the ascending points — this will help you focus more on the issue at hand.
If you want to know even more details and see a wonderful video demonstrating the technique, look on this expert's website. These guys are the real gurus! Try simply typing what is tapping and explore!
Test the Final Intensity
Once you're done with your sequence, be sure to rate your intensity level on the normal scale of 0 to 10. And of course, compare your results with the initial intensity level.
If you find that you haven't reached zero, I'll recommend you repeat the process. Just keep at it until you feel the inner peace and joy you deserve.
The big idea is to turn your thoughts and energy to the powerful and positive. Remember, this is not just some mental trick, you're actually using physical pressure on key points to connect with the real energy of positivity and joy that already dwells within you.
It's more like getting rid of negativity and of course, making a big switch to positivity! If you liked this article, then you'll love our take on Earthing; another easy to do free way to beat stress. You can't go wrong with adding these things into your daily routine.
And when someone asks you, What is tapping? Now you can tell them!
Summing it all up
There you have it-all you need to know to start practicing 3 very powerful and effective anti stress techniques on your own. Like I said before, who needs to pay a stress coach? Not us!
