Lyme disease natural treatment. Healing requires a holistic approach; from diagnosis, treatment plans, and a team of doctors, to restoring balance to the body.
Lyme Disease Natural Treatment
Healing from Lyme disease with natural treatment is definitely possible in my opinion.
But before you can start the healing journey you have to be accurately diagnosed. Initially, this is not easy.
The testing can give false positives as well as false negatives.
Therefore, Lyme is becoming more of a clinical symptom diagnosis.
I know so many people who have had bad experiences when they set out to figure out what was making them so sick.

Try to Catch it Early!
Most of us know by now that if the disease is caught early, then antibiotic treatment is more successful. However, this is not always the case.
Sadly, many people don’t even know they have been bitten.
The nymph tick is the size of a poppy seed and can look like a tiny freckle.
The diagnosis may not be made until the disease has advanced.
So Many Treatment Options
There are many treatment options to think about. You need to decide which doctor, or doctors are the best match for you.
Essentially your options are many, from antibiotics to herbs, charcoal powder or reiki.
So how do you know what works?
Well, that’s not an easy question and of course, it’s not as simple as taking medications and being all better.
Experts and Insurance
Sadly, many experts in the treatment of Lyme disease (Lyme Literate Medical Doctors or LLMDs) are not covered by your insurance plans.
There is controversy surrounding the effectiveness and dangers of long-term antibiotic treatments.
Some doctors have even been taken to court.
This leads to the need for very large insurance protection plans for these doctors.
This also leads to very expensive fees for patients to see these specialists.
The Center for Disease Control recognizes that there are people who have taken full courses of prescribed antibiotics but remain ill.
This is why many of us are forced to pursue natural treatment for Lyme disease.
Essentially, they call this experience post Lyme disease syndrome which the CDC describes here.
Some physicians disagree. They believe that Lyme is able to protect itself using cyst and biofilm forms.
Therefore, the bacteria are able to protect themselves from antibiotics in the bloodstream.
They resurface when conditions are right such as when you are in a weakened state.
Doctors and Lyme Disease Natural Treatment
I personally tried three different doctors and several rounds of antibiotics only to spiral downhill and feel worse.
After a full year of this, I decided to take control and really research what was working for people.
I eventually found a team of doctors that were able to work in parallel to help me start feeling better.
One of my team of doctors was a holistic MD who combined natural and herbal medications with pharmaceuticals.
He worked to find things for me to take that killed Lyme bacteria and co-infections, while also working on thyroid and hormonal imbalances.
Acupuncture and Herbs (Lyme Disease Natural Treatment)
Another key team player was an acupuncturist who had restored his own health from Lyme infection.
He did this using his own Chinese herbal medications and acupuncture.
I took some of these herbs and believe they helped me tremendously as well.
Healing the Gut:
Finally, I worked closely with an applied kinesiology doctor who helped me heal my gut.
My gut was damaged from a year of antibiotic usage. This doctor also provided symptoms management, pain relief, supplements and herbs.
I use applied kinesiology, nutrition, and quarterly appointments with my MD to maintain my own health now.
This includes taking some key supplements from Supreme Nutrition and antimicrobial herbs suchs as biocidin drop as a maintenance routine.
Supplements for Lyme Disease
Supreme nutrition has many great products but I have not personally tried them all.
I wanted to highlight the two that I think were most helpful for me.
One was of course, Melia, shown below.
Simply click the image to go to the amazon page where you can read more about it and see the reviews.
Basically, powdered neem makes up this strong antimicrobial with many potential uses and benefits, including having anti-tumor properties and being anti-inflammatory.
The other Supreme nutrition product I wanted to mention is Takesumi.
This is basically bamboo ash or charcoal powder and it is used as a detox agent.
This supplement helps to get toxins out of the body and lightens the load on the liver and kidneys.
When you’re killing lots of bugs you need a good detox routine.
Lyme disease and co-infection treatments cause the bugs to die off in great numbers.
When they die, they release toxins and you feel sicker for a while.
This is because your body has to deal with processing out all these toxins and the reaction is known as a herxheimer which is described here.
Takesumi and products like it, may help you through these herxheimer reactions.
It also helps get some heavy metals detoxed out. This is good since heavy metals can get in the way of your healing.
Besides charcoal powder, some people use bentonite clay for similar reasons.
And as a side note, epsom salt baths also helped me a great deal.
Treating Lyme Disease with Essential Oils
This stuff is amazing! You must read up on this and ask your doctor about it to see if it’s right for you.
It is a broad spectrum antimicrobial blend of essential oils and herbs like goldenseal, black walnut, oregano, and more.
It will kill that stinking Lyme but be careful and go slow. It’s potent stuff!
Restoring balance and normal body function, including that of your immune system is key in your healing journey.
This is where the nutrition comes in. See our post on an antiinflammatory diet for Lyme.
You have to help your body along throughout your natural treatment for Lyme by eating well, hydrating properly, sleeping enough, detoxifying, exercising in moderation, nurturing your psyche, and adapting a positive mindset.
If you don’t believe that you will get well, you probably won’t.
Healing from Lyme disease is a process but it is possible.
