Hello! Thank you for visiting our site. Here’s a little background about me:
I am a certified holistic health coach and special education teacher who is passionate about sharing up-to-date wellness information. I used holistic nutrition to help myself recover from the harsh symptoms of Lyme disease as well as manage food allergies and sensitivities within my own family.
Most of us already know what we should be doing to have strong, healthy bodies. We are on information overload most of the time. But, there is a problem and it lies within the implementation. Exactly how do we make sense of all the information given to us? How do we work things like cooking, shopping, exercising, and meditation into our busy schedules? I have days that my schedule is very tight. Just know that I am learning and growing right along with you.
Health guidelines conflict and change. One day it’s “Eat a low fat diet.”, the next it’s “Go high fat and low carb.” or, “Eat fruits. No, wait, fruits are bad because they have too much sugar.”, “Go vegan, but just be aware that you do need some meat.” You get the idea. So, how do we know what we should do?
I believe that we already know what works best for us, we just need to tap into that inner knowledge. Through this blog, we will do some experimenting, learn how to listen to our bodies, and figure out our individual nutritional needs.
I encourage avoidance of processed foods and the cleanest organic living you can manage. I promote small changes that are sustainable. Why? Because when you eat high quality foods, you crave less of it because your body is being nourished. Weight loss is a natural result of the accumulation of small lifestyle changes over time. And all or nothing thinking that comes with diets just does not work!
We will also share some great recipes, snack ideas, and money saving tips. In addition, Alayna will be focusing on toning and strengthening your body while having fun! If anyone can help you learn to enjoy exercise, it is her.
Let’s all do something today (and every day) that our future selves and family will thank us for. You can make your body the strong and healthy temple God designed it to be.
